Stonewards Achievements Guide

Stonewards ships with 20 Steam achievements on app ID 4502710, covering character unlocks, ring and tome discoveries, lore page collection, currency milestones, and meta progression. This page lists every achievement, explains what it tracks, and gives practical tips for chasing the rarer entries without derailing your dig–forge–defend loop. Achievement percentages are pulled from Steam community stats and update as more players unlock each entry.

Achievement Categories at a Glance

The 20 achievements split into five families:

FamilyCountExamples
Character unlocks6Archer unlocked, Healer unlocked, Mage unlocked
Ring and tome unlocks6Bouncing arrow ring, Dodge chance ring, Melee frozen tome
Lore page collection2Know the History, More about the History
Currency milestones2Money!, Money! Money! Money!
Meta and loop4Choose wisely, Dwarven Greed, I love digging!, Welcome to the team!

Use this map to decide where to spend your next few runs—character unlocks are gated by hub progression, rings and tomes are gated by forge rolls, and lore pages are gated by thorough cave exploration.

Character Unlock Achievements (6)

Stonewards unlocks extra dwarves through hub meta progression. These six achievements track each major class unlock:

Archer unlocked

Triggered the first time the Archer becomes selectable in the hub. Archers need ranged combat missions to surface in the unlock pool, so prioritize missions tagged as ranged-friendly. Combine with Best Early Builds once unlocked.

Artificer unlocked

Artificer is gated behind bomb and crafting-heavy mission completions. Players running the Artificer archetype for two or three mid-tier missions unlock this achievement consistently. Read Ammo and Crafting for the bomb economy that triggers the unlock.

Healer unlocked

Healer surfaces after campfire and revive-focused missions. If you consistently revive teammates rather than respawning at the wave lobby, the unlock condition fires faster. See Campfire and Revive for revive chain tactics.

Hunter unlocked

Hunter is tied to tracking and skirmish missions. Solo players often hit this naturally because the Hunter path rewards thorough target priority—see Monster Types for which enemies the Hunter archetype optimizes against.

Mage unlocked

Mage requires elite and boss mission clears. Run the harder mission tiers a few times and the unlock should appear after enough boss encounters. Pair with Bosses and Elites for fight prep.

Rogue unlocked

Rogue unlocks after mobility-focused skirmish missions. Pickoff-heavy playstyles feed this achievement; you can chase it deliberately by selecting missions with skirmish tags in the hub mission board.

Ring Unlock Achievements (4)

The Blacksmith forge offers randomized rings between waves. Four achievements track when specific rings enter your offered pool for the first time:

Bouncing arrow ring unlocked

Appears after the Blacksmith has rolled the bouncing arrow ring at least once across your runs. Run more forge cycles to surface this option—the ring rotates based on your current upgrade pool, so a few varied forge visits almost guarantee it.

Companion damage ring unlocked

Companion damage applies to summoned allies and certain minion-style abilities. Surface this ring by running missions with companion-friendly forge upgrades in your history. Continue playing; the ring pool is generous.

Dodge chance ring unlocked

Dodge chance rings need a few forge cycles with mobility-friendly upgrade paths. Pair your build with speed and movement upgrades to nudge the ring pool toward dodge options.

Explosion speed ring unlocked

Explosion speed is the Artificer-friendly ring that boosts bomb cadence. Use Artificer or pair with another Artificer player for a couple of runs—the explosion ring appears more reliably when your recent upgrade history includes bomb-related picks.

Tome Unlock Achievements (2)

Tombs (or tomes) are rare book-style upgrades that occasionally drop from chests and elite monsters. The two known tome achievements are:

Melee frozen tome unlocked

Triggered when a frozen-themed melee tome enters your inventory. The tome is uncommon but not gated by mission tier—run chest-opener stations between waves and let RNG roll naturally. Solo runs hit this within five to ten chest openings.

Ranged burn tome unlocked

Ranged burn is the rarer counterpart that pairs with Archer or Mage. Same RNG rules as the melee frozen tome; prioritize chest openers and longer runs to maximize roll chances.

Lore Page Achievements (2)

Lore pages were introduced in hotfix 0.1.5 and are scattered through procedural caves. Two achievements track collection milestones:

Know the History

Awarded after discovering your first lore page. Pages appear in dead-end branches and off-path cave pockets. Mining players who explore branches instead of rushing for ore hit this naturally. See How to Mine Fast for cave routes that balance speed with exploration.

More about the History

Awarded once you have collected a larger set of lore pages. Banana Tiger Studio has not published the exact threshold, but community estimates suggest ten or more pages in a single save file. Run exploration-heavy mining trips across multiple sessions to bank pages consistently.

Currency Milestone Achievements (2)

These achievements track gold accumulation across runs:

Money!

Awarded after accumulating a mid-tier gold threshold. The gold coin economy shifts between patches—hotfix 0.1.5 reduced Artificer bomb gold drops, so this achievement may take longer than expected. Recycling Camp conversions and end-of-run extractions both feed into your gold bank.

Money! Money! Money!

The higher-tier gold milestone. After hotfix 0.1.7 coin distribution tuning, expect this to require focused recycling across many runs. Use the Resource Priority Checklist to avoid wasting gold on suboptimal upgrades.

Meta and Loop Achievements (4)

Four achievements track broader play patterns and onboarding:

Choose wisely

Triggered by your first meaningful hub upgrade decision—typically choosing between two forge paths, mission tiers, or shop offers early in a save file. Any intentional hub decision should fire this achievement within the first run.

Dwarven Greed

Triggered by collecting a large haul in a single mining trip or completing a chest-opener sequence. Mining routes that prioritize rare ore branches feed this achievement reliably. See Ores and Materials for which nodes count as “rare.”

I love digging!

Awarded after completing several successful mining trips across multiple runs. The exact threshold scales with playtime rather than specific ore counts, so consistent mining-focused players hit this naturally within five to ten sessions.

Welcome to the team!

Awarded the first time you bring a complementary squad composition into a co-op mission. Mix classes instead of duplicating roles for a couple of runs to trigger this achievement.

Tips for Efficient Achievement Hunting

Achievement hunting should not break your normal run loop. Three habits speed up unlocks without wasting forge currency:

  1. Alternate hub missions. Cycle through different mission tiers and types so the unlock pool for character and tome achievements stays fresh.
  2. Run chest openers consistently. Every chest opened is a roll toward a tome or rare ring; assign one teammate to chest opener station between waves.
  3. Explore cave branches. Even when ore is plentiful, dive into two or three off-path branches per mining trip to bank lore pages.

Achievement Hunting With Friends

Co-op runs naturally surface more achievements because each player pulls from different upgrade pools and mission histories. Pair a Hunter-focused player with an Artificer-focused player to roll more rings and tomes per wave. Use How to Co-op in Stonewards for squad splits that maximize achievement variety.

What Changes When Achievements Drop

Banana Tiger Studio has hinted at additional achievements during the planned nine-to-twelve month Early Access window. Expect:

  • New character achievements as additional dwarves ship.
  • Boss-specific achievements tied to the new bosses planned in the EA roadmap.
  • Map achievements for the new maps mentioned in the Early Access plan.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common Stonewards questions.

How many achievements does Stonewards have?

Stonewards ships with 20 Steam achievements covering character unlocks, ring and tome discoveries, lore pages, gold milestones, and meta progression. More achievements are expected during the nine-to-twelve month Early Access window.

How do I unlock the Archer achievement in Stonewards?

Archer surfaces in the hub after running ranged combat missions consistently. The unlock condition triggers automatically once your mission history qualifies. Pair with [Best Early Builds](/builds/best-early-builds/) for ranged-friendly loadouts.

What is the rarest Stonewards achievement?

Money! Money! Money! and More about the History tend to have the lowest unlock percentages because they require either sustained gold accumulation or large lore page counts. Both require multiple sessions to complete.

Do achievements persist across save files?

Steam achievements unlock globally on your account, so they persist regardless of save resets. You can reroll characters, currency, and lore pages without losing achievement progress.

Are achievements shared with co-op partners?

Each player earns achievements independently based on their own participation. Co-op unlocks may fire for both players if both contributed, but check the in-game notification to confirm.

Where do I find lore pages for the history achievements?

Lore pages hide in cave branches and dead-end pockets. Read [How to Mine Fast](/guides/how-to-mine/) for exploration routes that surface lore pages without losing wave timing.
